Save The Villages has partnered with community leader Marques Dent to provide the citizens of Baltimore, MD with much needed support, items, and services during this upcoming Holiday season. We are organizing several fundraisers and seeking donations to support this initiative. Raised funds will purchase smoke detectors, non-perishable food items, winter coats, and children’s toys. Additionally, we will be collecting these items at pre-positioned drop boxes around Baltimore City.
Through this joint effort, our goal is to provide winter supplies for Baltimore-area families and provide financial support for educational efforts in rural villages within the continent of Africa. In addition, we will host a Holiday community day to unite inner city Baltimore communities, issue winter supplies to families, advocate voter registration, and provide awareness to the plight of youth in Africa. The community day will take place on Sunday, December 9, 2012. During this event, we will deliver the collected/purchased items, mentioned previously, to Baltimore-area families and provide awareness of the work Save The Villages is conducting in Africa.
